I went to Thread Den's alterations session Monday night.
I altered my summer denim pants to get rid of all the bulk around the waist. Rosie the lovely teacher was really helpful to guide me.
The pants were originally fastened around the waist with a long belt that I had to wrap around my waist one and a half times and d-rings. So bulky and fiddly - GONE!
The pants had a wide waist band that added to the bulk. I folded that in half and carefully pinned it down to the inside. When I had that right I practiced my stitching in the ditch that I'd first done in the PJ pants workshop, It worked a TREAT. Rosie was REALLY impressed....
Then I added a button hole using the button hole footer and settings on the Thread Den sewing machines - Rosie helped me set that up and learn how to do it...
Finally a button ...
Wish I could add a photo to show you the great result.
And I loved seeing all the other projects that participants were doing - seemed like everyone else had success too...
Hooray Thread Den...again
