I wouldn't recommend the thread Den to anyone!!! I'm a complete beginner and the first lesson I wasn't shown how to use the sewing machine probably. The teacher move on from one subject to the next within seconds, leaving me confused about what I was doing. It appeared that the teacher didn't want to be there. I also didn't expect a woman from up stairs with two children to come down and allow the children to run around while the class was bring taught. Unprofessional. I have asked for a refund but have been told no, we don't give refunds. I asked why?? I was told we don't give refunds to people who change their minds. Again I explained why I didn't wish to continue with the course and again was told I wouldn't get a refund. I have tried around 5 time to get a refund but the Thrend Den have refused so if you are looking to learn sewing probably I wouldn't recommend the Thrend Den.
The classes were conducted in an informal and supportive environment for many of us who had lost confidence with our sewing skills. The instructor was reassuring and communicated the information in an accessible manner. She responded to our questions thoroughly and took us through threading the machine, doing practice samples, lining and sewing a phone cover and inserting a zip. There was a nice sense of camaraderie among the other women in the group. Great environment to learn in -well resourced, bright and inspiring! Julie
