I think that this course can be very helpful for someone who hasn’t used a sewing machine, it’s very straight forward and you get to make very exciting things. They provide you with material that you will have to buy.

I attended this course with a friend as we had both had some experience sewing, but lacked some of the basics, so we thought this course would be a great idea in order to fill in some gaps in our knowledge.
Each student has their own 'sewing station' with everything you could need for the class which was really great from a covid perspective as you don't share any tools. The first week covered quite a lot of theory, and the projects each week were timed really well, with each week getting a little more complex in what we covered. The teacher Amy was very attentive, and due to the classs sizes being only 6 per class we had time to ask about issues we were having and she was very helpful and patient with us! She also ensured everyone was up to speed with each part by checking in with everybody individually which was really helpful because sometimes I was a bit slow!
I really enjoyed doing the course and I learnt so much! Once I've practiced what I've learnt I'm sure I'll be looking at another course at Thread Den to further my skills.

My best friend and I signed up for the Basics Sewing Class together. I have some basic sewing experience but was really rusty as I have not sewn anything for a few years since having kids. I really enjoyed the small 6 person class with Amy.
Amy was very patient, attentive and good at explaining and demonstrating what we needed to finish off our sewing project.
I liked that at the end of each class, we had finished making something ourselves. I enjoyed learning some new tips and tricks and as well refreshing some of my prior dormant sewing knowledge.
My best friend who is more of a beginner than me also seemed to enjoy the class. Would highly recommend for those brand new to sewing or those like me that are really rusty. Very enjoyable class, doable projects and the time just flew by.
I rode my bike in and managed to park on the side streets. If you are planning to drive in then the The Bullring Coles Carpark (entry is via Argyle Street) is an easy, reliable option. Trying to find on street parking may be a struggle as Brunswick Street is very busy.
