Usually held on the third Sunday of the month from 2pm to 5pm, it's our Sunday Afternoon Sewing Session!

Guests pop in to finish projects they've started in class, to work on current projects, trace off patterns on the cutting tables, get some overlocking done...  But, it's not exclusively sewing, bring in your knitting and crochet projects, hand sewing, embroidery, there's even been hat steaming in the past!  Hell, you can pop in just for a chat!

Sunday Afternoon Sewing Sessions are free for  Thread Den Members

Bookings essential.

Advice given during Sunday Sewing  Session isn't detailed instruction. Many people attend these afternoons and there is usually only one Thread Den teacher running the night. For detailed tuition, look into a Private Lesson scheduled at your convenience.

Not sure if your membership is still current?  Send us an email at and we'll check for you.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

On occasion, Thread Den is forced to cancel a class due to low booking numbers. We really don't like to do this as we love to teach people to sew, knit and crochet, but if we don't cover our costs we can't run the class. In instances where Thread Den must cancel a class, enrolled participants will be notified 24 hours or more prior to the scheduled class and will receive a credit for a replacement class or a refund as required.

There are no refunds due to change of mind.

25 April 2018 • Sunday Afternoon Sewing

Danielle has a friendly warming set up that makes you feel you can learn (with her help) at your own pace. Everyone on their own mission but with supporting strangers and altogether I know we will walk out learning and finish what we aim to do :) I'm so pleased I found Thread Den.

19 December 2017 • Sunday Afternoon Sewing

Where would my sewing be without Sunday afternoon sewing? Never finished, that's where. I managed to cut two Charm pattern Rita blouses, and the bias roueau loops for my boned bodice on Sunday afternoon, so my Christmas break sewing preparations are done. I felt that I achieved more in three hours than I did at the entire week at home. Thank you Thread Den! All the best for Christmas and New Year to the lovely ladies of Thread Den. Looking forward to another wonderful year in 2018.

16 November 2017 • Sunday Afternoon Sewing

Three straight hours of uninterrupted sewing enabled me to make enormous inroads on the dress I am making for a friend. After being stalled for months (while I completed another dress) it's back on track and nearly finished. I don't know if anything would get finished without Sunday Afternoon Sewing Sessions. I also met new people and we chatted over our sewing projects. I love to see what others are making.
