Cancellation & Refund Policy

On occasion, Thread Den is forced to cancel a class due to low booking numbers. We really don't like to do this as we love to teach people to sew, knit and crochet, but if we don't cover our costs we can't run the class. In instances where Thread Den must cancel a class, enrolled participants will be notified 24 hours or more prior to the scheduled class and will receive a credit for a replacement class or a refund as required.

There are no refunds due to change of mind.

Cancellations of Bookings Policy

  • If you provide notice seven or more days prior to the start of your course, you will need to pay an administration fee of $10.
  • Cancellations or changes made with less than seven days notice before the start of a course, will forfeit 50% of the paid class fee.
  • Cancellations or changes made less than 48 hours prior to class commencement will forfeit the full course fee paid.

Transfers of your course or workshop booking to a friend or family are fine.

Payment Policy:

Classes at Thread Den frequently become fully booked, so we require full payment to be made at the time of booking to secure your place.

Payment can be made conveniently online with credit card, or at the store in cash, EFT or credit card or even via credit card over the phone.

Unfortunately, we can't tentatively hold or pencil in places without payment.

12 July 2018 • Private Sewing Lesson

Jack loved his lessons with Allanah. The reversible cape they designed and made together is stunning. Jack is very proud of his work and has learnt a range of sewing skills. Through Allanah's teaching Jack has grown in confidence, using his machine, so that now he is working on some projects at home. Thanks Allanah.

The private lessons were a great way for me to build my confidence and spend time on the tasks that I need the most help with. I found Laura to be knowledgeable and helpful. She has a lovely, relaxed manner which added to my overall enjoyment of the lessons.

Teacher was understanding, helpful, patient, friendly, pleasant....She didn't assume I remember previous classes; nor did she patronise. She seems genuine in her passion to enjoy every part of the lesson. I like that she focused on the task not getting distracted with chit chat and therefore making unnecessary errors. We focused on one main project: I bought an op shop leather jacket, which seemed new. I've been wearing it and the stitch detailing had a short thread came loose but it was repaired. The hand wrist holes were too tight so we unpicked and created room. Part of the lining is leather which was sagging down but repaired. Project mostly completed with a little of the same for me to finish. Project no 2: cardigan: with loose threads are now pulled back through to the other side. So the fabric now looks better. We ran out of time to finish the cardigan repair job.
